Paypal Users~New Scam Update….!!!
Just wanted to share some new info with all of you who use Paypal as both a buyer and seller for online auction purchases. I’m sure many of you already know about these fraudulent emails that look as though they were sent from paypal when if fact they are not….
About 2 years ago when I was plugging away selling on ebay I received an email from paypal. I had about 400.00 sitting in the account at the time. The email said my account was being held for suspicious transactions, and gave a “click here” link to automatically restore my account. I panicked, but instead of clicking on the link I went directly to my paypal account only to find nothing mentioning or confirming this email. I decided to call, and after waiting I finally got an actual person to speak to. It was never sent from paypal and it was a page created from someone to get their hands on my account and my money!! Lesson learned……
Now just the other day I got another one. People they almost got me with this one! It had an actual case number, a better explanation of why my account was on hold, and it didn’t look cut and pasted. If I have not already been warned I would have panicked and really clicked on that link! Once that link is clicked all your account information is in the hands of a thief! They wipe your account out just like that. And from all the research I’ve read you may never get it back. What a horrible feeling that must be, one minute having it and the next POOF it’s gone. Selling then mostly consigned items how would I explain that to my customers, “Oh someone stole all your money from my paypal account, sorry.” Nightmare city!! I always in the past left the money in the account in case of a refund or dispute, but not anymore.
I have a paypal debit card and once the money is in there I take it right out at the cash machine. If there’s a problem, funds need to be sent back they can take it out of another bank account on file with exactly what needs to be there to cover myself. Paypal doesn’t need to have all your bank accounts on file either. I sometimes suspect maybe a rouge Paypal employee might be sending out these emails, but I have no real evidence of that. I know most of us know the difference between a real and a fake email, but to the few newbies out there just starting with the electronic payment thing pay close attention to any email you get. Don’t feel the urge to click anything until your certain. Change your passwords every once in a while, as I do. There’s a lot of evil in the world I hate to admit, and there’s plenty of it going on in the internet world too. Maybe this just makes it too easy for them, not seeing who they are actually hurting?
Paypal has been known to “hold funds” for 30 days, (why? because they can!) it has happened to me. So get yourself a Paypal debit card, and get your money out ASAP. I print my shipping labels and whatever is left is cash in my hand!! Or transfer it to a bank account and withdraw it from there. Don’t be an easy target for anyone online. I’ll discuss other online scams in another blog, for now just be smart, be aware, and never click anything if your unsure. If you have any problems on this website, or any other here online you can contact me. I’ve been doing this since it all began, and I am a founding member of paypal. Back when, it was something to boast about, now not so much since ebay controls that as well. Just use the “contact us” page and I’m here for you!!
As always follow your Bliss!
SO excited I have to Share!~~Wonderful New Users Message to ConsignBayAuctions.com!
After a successful sale I sent an email to the winner thanking them for purchasing as well as welcoming them to our side, glad to have them. Look at the wonderful response I received. Thanks Bo!
I’m glad I’m with you, to. Actually I found your site by accident and it’s one of the best accidents I ever had, lol. I’m really hoping your site sky rockets because I’ve bought off eBay and their rules and junk isn’t something I really like. I like your feedback system, the fact that you give buyers their CHOICE of payment method, but most of all I admire you for your ‘I’m not taking this anymore’ stance concerning eBay. I have a very dear wheelchair-bound friend in Jacksonville, Florida who hand makes free-form glass lamp globes for the restoration of old lamps then sells them on ebay. He always states in his listings if the lamps are marked, who the maker is, and everything known about the lamps he restores. He also states that the globes are new handmade free-form globes. One lady bought one of his lamps about a year ago them filed a complaint with eBay that he was selling counterfeit lamps. He got suspended but his account was later reinstated and since then, eBay has constantly been on his case. They’ve taken down listings simply because his work resembled someone else’s, etc. There’s no excuse for eBay’s actions. A lot of people are upset with eBay and from what I hear, with good reason. People are looking for something new because they’re fed up with eBay and you are offering just that. I know your site will do well. I’m behind you 100% and I intend to stick with you. One day you’ll be as big (or bigger than eBay) and I firmly believe that. I’ve already told some of my fiends about your site and told them they really needed to check it out. I think you’re doing a wonderful job here.
By the way, I know I signed up using my first name, but to all my friends I’m just Bo
I Love Kitchens!
I Love Kitchens!
I don’t know why but I’m a big fan of kitchens! I love to look at pictures of kitchens, I love to see other peoples kitchens, and I’ve spent years perfecting mine to reflect my unique personality! That’s pretty much how I started with online auctions. If it didn’t fit into my crazy kitchen theme I would sell it on ebay only to purchase something else to replace it! Now I have my own auction site so I no longer have to fork over my money to them, giving me more profit and a few extra dollars to buy just what I want.
Just proving the point you can successfully sell just about anything here online. Look around your kitchen, want to change something but don’t have the heart to take it down and put it in storage being wasted? Sell it here, find it a good home where it can be showcased with a new happy buyer. Try it, you’ll be amazed. Take some good pictures, write a compelling description, make someone else “want” to own because it meant so much to you and you want to see it used and loved once again. I know I sound corny but I sold so much from my own home just that way.
Enjoy some pictures of my eclectic kitchen and don’t be surprised if you see something from there listed here on consignbayauctions.com. My tastes change daily and you just never know what I’ll want to replace next!

SO you’ve registered with Consignbayauctions.com…..now what?
Let me help your transition into the world of online auctions a “tad” easier and much more successful. I will be “blogging” advice, tips and some of my own lessons learned from years of ebay experience.
!!Increase your auction sales!!
Use words that make people “want” to buy from you!
-
Use the word “fast” in your listing. People want fast results, fast delivery, fast email responses, etc. Time is usually valued more than money, and in this fast paced world you can give them just want they might not get anywhere else.
-
Use the word “guarantee” in your listing. This assures people they are not risking hard earned money buying from you.
-
Use the words “you/your” in your listing. This makes people believe your talking to them. Thus making them feel more important, and attracts them to read everything you have to offer.
Those just 3 tips out of about 20 I have compiled. We will discuss those along with other information so check this blog daily. Email any comments, questions, etc to the contact us page on our website.
Thank God It’s Friday
Not that it really matters here at Consignbayauctions.com because we are here 24/7! I just like to say it every once in awhile! We spent the entire day on two computers working on optimizing our searches, links and keywords. We are also looking for a good link exchange program offering our users even more options. We are learning as we go, doing our homework, researching and spreading the word everywhere we can. Today I linked our site to so many social networks, some of which I never knew existed. Facebook is my favorite, and I often get carried away there! So feel free to check me out on facebook under the name Savannah Nicole. I started it as a joke for my Doxie Savannah but because so many people knew me there by that name I just kept it. I welcome all new friends, I post auctions and links to this site whenever I can, and I got a few registered users from there as well. Facebook is a good networking tool, and if your a seller with us we recommend you use it to promote yourself, your business, and what you have to offer.
I normally shy away from dolls because I’ll admit it, they freak me out! A new seller brought in an entire collection today, and only one didn’t have me running for the door. Here she is…..She is from Chantal Poulin, limited edition No.1066 out of 15,000 made. She has the cutest basket of kittens thus the First in the Series “New Friends”.
On that note I wish you a great Friday night. Have some fun, drive safe and I’ll be back tomorrow with more interesting tidbits from consignbayauctions.com!
